Charity Exhibition for the Association World Doctors
Opening Reception on Thursday, April 16, 2026 at 7:00 PM at the Raiffeisen Gallery Bruneck
The Artists
The couple Ingrid and Peter Sapelza from Bruneck are generously providing artworks free of charge for this exhibition and sale. All proceeds and donations will go to the San Marco Clinic, a project of World Doctors in Ethiopia. Through their generosity, they are helping to make the world a better place. The association is deeply grateful for their support.
Peter Sapelza
He was born in 1935 in Olang and first encountered the world of sculptural design at the International Summer Academy in Bruneck. He learned his craft under the guidance of the sculptor David Moroder from St. Ulrich. Over the years, he has participated in numerous group and solo exhibitions, also beyond regional borders.
Ingrid Pokorny Sapelza
She was born in 1940 in Berlin and has been based in Bruneck since 1951, where she has taken part in various painting courses. She attended the International Summer Academy in Salzburg and is a founding member of the International Summer Academy in Bruneck. Over the years, she has participated in numerous group and solo exhibitions, also beyond regional borders, and has received several awards.
The project
The San Marco Clinic provides primary healthcare to around 25,000 people in its catchment area. The nearest referral hospital, Attat Hospital, is located 50 kilometres away—a considerable distance for many patients.
Edda Pokorny, the mother of the artist Ingrid Pokorny Sapelza, financed the construction of the first clinic building. Through the sale of the artworks, the establishment of an ophthalmology unit is now being made possible, further improving local healthcare services.
